About The Client

Aerojet Rocketdyne is a world-recognized aerospace and defense leader providing propulsion and energetics to its space, missile defense, strategic systems, tactical missile, and armaments customers throughout domestic and international markets. Headquartered in El Segundo, California, Aerojet Rocketdyne’s various programs defend America, its troops, and its allies. Customers include the U.S. Department of Defense, NASA, and other agencies and companies, both in the United States and abroad.

The Challenge

Across each step of Aerojet Rocketdyne’s growth, they have relied on a network of systems to manage core operational functions including financial control and reporting, accounts payable, cash management, and project financials – among others. This led to a complex, disparate network of SaaS platforms.

We learned very quickly their IT department was not in full control of the company’s technology stack and various departments were operating in data silos. Additionally, they were having difficulties with migrating data and rulesets securely from their legacy software to continue mission-critical operations.

It became clear that Aerojet Rocketdyne wanted better process controls in place along with more robust reporting and insights into key performance indicators. They leveraged Zero Point’s resources and skillsets to gather and finalize implementation requirements for a new payables system within Oracle ERP Cloud.

The Solution

Zero Point ERP stood out for its implementation and project management approach while coordinating with client teams to set goals and drive target deadlines. This entailed developing a plan, managing personnel, and processes, and deploying critical system changes, so they could continue meeting their yearly growth goals.

We adapted out-of-the-box dashboards and reports. This included billing automation for time and cost savings. Zero Point ERP also integrated third-party apps for different business units and offered troubleshooting services to guarantee full adoption of the new system. It was also important that data was synced securely between systems and was easily accessible by employees. Part of this involved implementing a position hierarchy. This enabled Aerojet Rocketdyne to assign data ownership to key stakeholders in the organization. This included ongoing support, post-deployment, on an as-needed basis.

Zero Point ERP was then tasked with training C-suite, executives and account managers on how to use the new system and generate timely, accurate, and consistent high-level invoices or financial reports.

The Result

Aerojet Rocketdyne improved operation controls and established a new billing framework that led to year-over-year growth. We completed the project within 6 months, and the client was very happy with the outcome. The new automated billing process allows for transparency across all parties and business units involved. With the new payable solution, there are no longer any single points of failure from when an invoice is received, coded, or approved.

As a result, the scalability and performance of their new Oracle ERP Cloud system provided Aerojet Rocketdyne with an enterprise solution that supported future growth.
